Rebecca Ferguson Avoids Discussing Hercules Due To Shamed Director Brett Ratner

Rebecca Ferguson avoids chatting about Hercules because of its link to disgraced director Brett Ratner. On the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, she mentioned a studio-heavy film she worked on, almost saying the name Hercules but stopping short.

She made it clear she didn’t want to give any shine to directors like Ratner. She said,

“I’ve done another mission and then another mission and then a June. I’ve all of these incredibly high studio intense films I did. Hercules, which we don’t need to talk about because we don’t need to promote directors like that. But I’ve done big studio films, so it feels like my body’s Craig It cradled into the masses.”

But why does Ratner’s name ring alarm bells? Well, before his fall from grace, he was a big name in Hollywood, known for directing hits like the Rush Hour series and music videos for artists like LL Cool J and Mariah Carey.

However, in 2017, during the peak of the #MeToo movement, Ratner faced allegations. Six women, including Elliot Page, accused him of s*xual harassment and assault, with actress Anna Paquin backing up Page’s claims. As a result, Warner Bros. cut ties with Ratner, ending their contract.

While there were rumors of Ratner’s return in 2021, there’s been no concrete evidence. He hasn’t addressed the allegations or apologized for the pain he caused, especially to Page. Meanwhile, Ferguson didn’t just talk about Ratner; she also shared her own unpleasant experiences on set.

Ferguson dropped a bombshell during the same podcast, revealing she vowed never to work with a certain former co-star again.

The Dune star opened up about a troubling incident where she was yelled at and left in tears on set. Without naming names, Ferguson described the co-star as an “absolute idiot” who lashed out due to insecurities about their performance. Ferguson revealed,

“I remember there was a moment and this human being was being so insecure and angry because this person couldn’t get the scenes out. And I think I was so vulnerable and comfortable that I got screamed at.”

The Swedish actress recalled feeling vulnerable and unsupported, with nobody having her back as she faced the verbal onslaught. She stated,

“Because this person was number one on a call sheet, there was no safety net for me. So no one had my back. And I would cry walking off set.”

Although Ferguson didn’t spill the beans on the co-star’s identity, she made it clear it wasn’t Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise, and the incident occurred within the past decade.
