Adapted from Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name, Dune turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2021. With Legendary Pictures producing the movie and Warner Bros. distributing it, Dune 2 is expected to do the same this year as it might see a $170 million global opening (via Deadline).
This $170 million global opening is estimated to be divided into $85 million–$90 million abroad and another $80M in the U.S./Canada. While Warner Bros. is expecting the domestic opening to be around $65 million, most exhibitors and tracking services believe that it will be at least around $80 million.
Dune 2 hit the cinemas on March 1, 2024.
