Dune: Part Two is one of the most highly anticipated movies. The dual Hollywood strikes, namely, the WGA strike and the SAG-AFTRA strike, last year caused the delay in the release of the Timothee Chalamet starrer movie. The movie is anticipated to have a great massive box office opening, which might finally lift the drought off the box office.

Dune: Part Two had its worldwide premiere on February 6 at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico. The film’s advance ticket sales have surpassed even that of Oppenheimer, one of the two highest-grossing movies of the past year; the other one was Barbie.

According to Deadline, the film could have a $170 million worldwide opening with a collection of $85-90 million abroad and $80 million in the U.S./Canada. Although Warner Bros. is hoping to see the movie have a domestic opening of $65 million. Most exhibitors and tracking services are seeing nearly $80 million.

The movie is primarily funded by Legendary Entertainment. Warner Bros. too has a double-digit stake in the movie, which will earn it a small part of the box office collection as well as a distribution fee.

Tom Holland as Spider-Man

Timothee Chalamet has been nothing short of a trailblazer ever since he stepped foot in the Hollywood entertainment industry. He began acting as a child actor and made his feature film debut in a minor role in Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children. His breakthrough came in 2017 with the movie Call Me by Your Name.

English actor Tom Holland also has a huge fan following and is quite popular among the young audience. However, it has to be noted that Holland’s success has mostly come from his portrayal of the Marvel superhero Spider-Man unlike Chalamet who has worked in a variety of movies and the only franchise that he has been attached to is Dune.

While both of these young actors are immensely talented, Chalamet seems to have a better stand when it comes to standalone movies. Hopefully, Holland will grow out of the shadow of Marvel’s Spider-Man and make great standalone movies soon.
