And further, thundered down with,

Despite Dwayne Johnson’s strong presence, the film fell short in its execution, lacking the depth and originality required to rise above being a run-of-the-mill comedy that quickly fades from memory.
Baywatch thus faced an immediate downturn upon the release of reviews, with critics criticizing it for seeming like a mere cash grab. Frank Scheck from The Hollywood Reporter highlighted,
“A big-screen reboot so lifeless and mechanical that even its end-credits outtakes are not amusing, Baywatch proves much less than the sum of its undeniably attractive body parts.”
Adding to its challenges, the movie encountered fierce competition from the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which made a comeback after six years. This further made it difficult for the film to stand on its own.
