Black Adam may not be one of the finest movies from the DC Universe, but it was most certainly famous for its breathtaking action sequences and terrific humor. Yet, while watching those action scenes on the big screen is quite an easy task for the viewers, it was quite the opposite for the cast members shooting it–at least for Dwayne Johnson’s co-star from the film, Noah Centineo.
Being the hilariously adorable person that he is, the Atom Smasher portrayer aka Centineo attempted to make an action sequence funny by pretending to be hurt. However, the joke landed back on him as not only did it lead to him getting his shoulder dislocated twice but his skin-tight superhero costume further contributed to making everything worse for him!

Noah Centineo Faced Some Serious Misadventures During Black Adam
Appearing on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Noah Centineo talked about the scene he tried to make funny in Black Adam. In that, he had to run 40 yards with all the parked cars and then run back through the same route.
Throughout this, he was wearing his skin-tight superhero costume for the Atom Smasher in the most humid weather you could find in Atlanta. Thus, in an attempt to lighten the mood, the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star tried to make the scene funny.
“We did six takes, and they’re like, ‘Should we do one more?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah. Why not? I’m game. You only get to do this so many times in your life, right?’ So I’m like, ‘Yeah, let’s do it again.’ So I’m running, and I go, ‘This time… let’s make it funny, right?’ Let me try to make it funny.”
To do that, Centineo pretended to get hurt while running, and… actually ended up getting hurt.
“So I’m running off the curb. There’s a parked car. I pretend to hit my knee on the parked car as I’m running. And I spin around like, ‘Ahh,’ like that hurt. [As I raise] my arm, [it] goes up and then dislocates. [Laughs] It’s like fully out of the socket. I’m like, ‘It’ll go back in. Hold on. Hold on. I’m gonna move it back in.’ It did not go back in.”
Realizing how it was no longer funny, Dwayne Johnson‘s Black Adam co-star had to stop running and get help for real.
“Now I’m like, ‘Okay, hold on. Stop, stop, stop running.’ And keep in mind, the suit is tight, right? It’s like a glove fit. And so they’re like, ‘What’s wrong?’ I’m like, ‘My arm’s out of its socket.’ So they go down and they’re trying to get it. It’s not going back in, so they have to cut the suit open. They open it up, they take it down. I’m sitting there like, ‘I can’t believe this is so funny.’”
Ever seen a superhero getting his superhero suit cut open because he just couldn’t help but injure himself while trying to make a scene funny? Well, now you have!
How The Joke Ended Up Being On Noah Centineo Once Again
Continuing, Noah Centineo explained how, finally, his dislocated arm was located back in its socket… until it got back out again.
“13 tries later, with a foot in my armpit and a guy pushing from behind, they just — plop. It goes back in finally, right? And I’m like, ‘Woo, yeah!’ Throw my arms in the air. I’m like, ‘We’re back in!’ When my arm goes in the air, it dislocates again.”
With a ‘Fire in the hole!’ from Centineo, the crew started helping him with his dislocated shoulder once again, and after the third try this time, it was actually back in the socket. And that was that. No more jokes for Noah Centineo. But, like he said, Black Adam “was an action movie for sure!”
