Disney alum, Dylan Sprouse looked back at the time when he worked with his twin, Cole Sprouse in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and its spin-off, The Suite Life on Deck. Recalling the time, he addressed the future of the show given that another hit Disney series, Wizards of Waverly Place has already gotten a green light for a reboot.
Sprouse is currently promoting the sequel to his hit movie, Beautiful Disaster. While talking about the movie, he also reflected on reprising his Zack Martin role in the future.
Dylan Sprouse Commented on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody‘s Reboot
Dylan Sprouse in an interview with Access Hollywood reminisced about his time filming The Suite Life of Zack & Cody with his twin, Cole Sprouse. When the interviewer asked him about the future of Suite Life’s spin-off, he weighed on why he thinks it will never happen.
He shared,
“I don’t know. I don’t know ever how to answer this. I think that there’s something very special and nostalgic about older TV and film that kind of shouldn’t be touched as like a snapshot of a time, right?”
While the show has been immensely hit in its era, the actor thinks that getting a reboot could affect the fame it gained previously.
“And I think that’s why a lot of people love that stuff. And I think you run the risk of like besmirching the reputation of what you previously made by remaking something. Which I think is very uncool.”
He further added,
“So I don’t necessarily want to say yes to that. I don’t want to say no to that because I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings. But at the same time, I’m like, I don’t know. Isn’t it kind of nice that it’s where it was?”
While the actor doesn’t know how exactly to feel about his show’s reboot, he appreciates and respects the show like always. However, this reboot question is something that he had encountered frequently. Back in 2021, he was clearly reluctant to reprise his Zack role as he shared via ET,
“I am asked all the time if Dylan and I are going to do a Suite Life reboot and I go, ‘No, absolutely not.'”
The reason remains the same as to why he doesn’t want to revive the show. The nostalgia that the original show created would probably be affected if the reboot didn’t meet fans’ expectations. Meanwhile, another hit show, Wizards of Waverly Place is confirmed to be returning to the small screen!
Wizards of Waverly Place Sequel is Happening!
Wizards of Waverly Place was among the most popular series from Disney which lasted for four seasons with 106 episodes. Given that it was one of the longest-running live-action shows of the House of Mouse, a reboot is surely a great decision.
Not just that, original cast members, Selena Gomez and David Henrie are making their return as screen siblings, Alex and Justin Russo. As per USA Today, the Only Murders in the Building actress, who catapulted to fame through this role is not expected to be a series regular.
The duo will also be working as executive producers in the spin-off. Whereas new cast members involve Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, and Mimi Gianopulos. While no release date has been revealed as of yet, the original show can be streamed on Disney+.
