The Chief Financial Officer in an earnings call meeting for the studio revealed how EA is aiming for a lighter release timeline this year, allowing them to focus more on the upcoming sequels of Battlefield as well as Sims.
Why A Longer Development Cycle For The Next Battlefield Game Is A Good Thing
The release of Battlefield 2042 back in 2021 came with a little controversy, as the game came out broken at launch. The initial game had many issues that the players did not like, especially those who had been following the franchise for a long time.
Battlefield 2042 initially failed to include even basic elements such as a scoreboard or a squad system. The players also had to deal with terrible servers and bad maps, making the game feel dull. While over time, EA did manage to fix the issues, it is evident they would not want to repeat the same grave mistake they did last time.
This brings us to the next Battlefield installment, which, as mentioned before, is said to be released in April 2025. The bigger timeline allows the studio to put more effort into creating a game that people will like from the launch of the game itself.
