After a long wait of two years, the Tarnished community is now delighted to finally have gotten a glimpse of Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have released a 3-minute-long gameplay reveal trailer showcasing the in-game world of the expansion, narrative, new weapons and bosses, and more.

While the trailer has impressed the fans, the developers did not keep them waiting and revealed the release date of the expansion and also announced new special editions of the game that will be launching alongside the DLC for fans to have an amazing experience.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will see players step into the world of Land of Shadow, where they will face new bosses equipped with new weapons and armor. Players will follow Miquella and uncover the dark side of the Elden Ring. At the end of the gameplay reveal trailer, it was revealed that the expansion will be released on June 21, 2024.

This confirmation of the release date brings the end of long-standing speculation and rumors about the launch of the DLC, and contrary to previous rumors of the expansion releasing this month, it will not be released 3 months later. The DLC is now available for pre-order for all platforms, with special bundles that come with the base game as well as for new players.

The base DLC comes with the standard version of the expansion that will be available digitally on all platforms, and Shadow of the Erdtree Edition comes with the base game, digital code of the new expansion, and physical version of the expansion for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

FromSoftware has announced two premium editions, including the Premium Bundle and the Deluxe Edition. The premium bundle will include the expansion, a digital art book, and digital soundtrack bonus content for the DLC. The Deluxe Edition comes with a base game, an expansion, digital art books, and digital soundtracks for both the base game and the expansion.

Players pre-ordering the expansion will get the bonus gesture Ring of Miquella. The Collector’s Edition will include a digital code for the expansion on the preferred platform, a 46-cm statue of “Messmer the Impaler,” a 40-page physical art book, and a digital soundtrack. Bandai Namco has said that the Collector’s Edition is limited, and players need to hurry if they want to get one.

The publisher has also revealed a limited quantity of exclusive Elden Ring DLC merchandise. The merchandise item, Helmet of Messmer the Impaler, is available for pre-order. The item is made with fine detailing and has a certificate of authenticity with a unique number. This item is available in limited quantity and will ship when the expansion launches on June 21, 2024.
