Gamers often describe Elden Ring as an endless journey. Given its never-ending content and quests, players often discover themselves dedicating hours to the game in a single session. Nevertheless, to maintain a non-complicated storyline without overwhelming complexity, FromSoftware had to remove a significant amount of content from the already extensive game.
A deeper inspection of the game files by the YouTuber Sekiro Dubi revealed a whole quest line that was developed for Kalé the merchant, but never made it to the final version. The quest line revealed more about the characters of merchants in the game, and fans hope we will get to see it in the upcoming DLC.
The skilled YouTuber showcased what the whole quest line would have looked like, as he was able to take the data files and enact them out in sequence within the game itself.
What Is Merchant Kalé’s Quest Line in Elden Ring?
In the final release version of the game, Kalé is one of the first NPCs the players get to meet when they begin the game. He stands out as the only merchant to be given a name, but unfortunately carries little significance to the main storyline.
However, the quest line that was planned for this particular NPC reveals a lot more about the origins of the merchants that are found in The Lands Between. Kalé dialogues reveal how all the merchants used to be a part of a group called The Grand Caravan. This group was known for worshiping the three fingers, which represent the Lord of the Frenzied Flame.
Our merchant friend reveals how The Grand Caravan has seemed to disappear out of thin air, and sets out on a quest to find it. He eventually does find his group, but in the form of corpses, as it is revealed they and the three fingers were executed by the Golden Order.

These events then trigger Merchant Kalé to set out on a journey as a firm follower of the Lord of Frenzied Flame, who wishes to bring chaos to the world of Elden Ring, as observed in one of the six endings of the game.
What Else Can Players Expect To Experience In The Upcoming Elden Ring DLC
Fans around the world are on the edge of their seat as we near the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC every day. Some players have even come up with a few plausible theories, considering all the hints and leaks from FromSoftware.
The theory with the most credit remains how we will see the return of Miquella, twin brother of Malenia in the upcoming extension. This is because the key art of the DLC which was released with the announcement shows a character that seems to have the same braided golden hair as Miquella on a steed.
