The trailer confirms how the player will need to travel to Mohg’s palace, where he will need to touch Miquella’s arm hanging out of the cocoon to transfer to the Land of Shadow from The Lands between the base game.

Miquella’s Involvement In Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

The trailer, as mentioned above, reveals a lot about the upcoming extension. However, a deeper look into the official website for the game and the DLC reveals how we will be guided by none other than Miquella as we are introduced to the Land of Shadow, a place kept hidden from the Erdtree and the place where Queen Marika first set foot.

The website further reveals how the player will be exploring and going over many hidden and dark secrets of the Elden Ring universe as they will meet other characters who have been guided by Miquella himself.

The description of the said trailer also goes over how the Land of Shadow is purged in a battle and set ablaze by Messmer’s flame. It further leads to revealing how it was this land where Miquella chose to go after becoming a cocoon in The Lands Between, leaving behind his flesh, strength, and lineage.

What Is The Land Of Shadows And How Is The Player Going To Access It

It is mentioned how the player would need to complete the base Elden Ring game first to get started with Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. As mentioned before, one would need to go to Mohg’s palace and touch Miquella’s hanging arm from the cocoon to transverse to the new lands.

It seems like the new Land of Shadow is a world imitated from the real Lands Between, and the player would be able to seamlessly travel back and forth between the two maps, facing new enemies and bosses introduced in the extension. There are also many new items and even ashes of wars shown in the trailer that has got the whole fan base excited, with everybody now waiting for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to finally release in June.

The Land of Shadow seems to be the place where Queen Marika became the God we know of. These lands are where fields and dungeons are seamlessly connected, offering the player an experience never seen before, making Shadow of the Erdtree the biggest extension in FromSoftware’s history.

Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is available to pre-order on Steam.
