Like any of the other Soulsborne titles, Elden Ring is notorious for its excruciating difficulty curve. Regardless, FromSoftware’s blend of open-world became the studio’s highest-selling game, which dethroned Dark Souls 3 by quite a margin.

One of the most well-known online personalities, Kai Cenat, announced that he will play through the entire Soulsborne lineup from Miyazaki-san’s studio. His fans are almost entirely sure that the streamer will inevitably struggle in one of the most challenging games in the studio’s portfolio.

Despite Success With Elden Ring, Kai Cenat Fans Think That He Will Struggle With Sekiro

Sekiro is considered much more complex than titles like Elden RIng.

Elden Ring is easily one of the most popular games and innovative titles in the Soulsborne subgenre but is also the most accessible. Its open-world offering allows players to avoid bosses and even engage in a tactical retreat using their mount.

That is not to say that the game is accessible by any means, but relatively, it doesn’t beat some of the most demanding titles in the subgenre, created and perfected by FromSoftware. When Kai Cenat announced his marathon, fans were excited to see the titles he had included:

While the streamer decided to play through the entire line-up, fans were skeptical of his ability to beat other titles in the studio because FromSoftware’s latest Soulsborne is considered the easiest of the lot:

Most fans were skeptical of the streamer beating Sekiro in one go as part of the marathon, as it is perhaps the most infamous of the modern Soulsborne titles:

Some stated that the Sekiro part of the marathon is not going to be that successful and exaggerated that it may even take him years to beat the title:

One of his fans also mentioned Isshina, widely regarded as the most challenging boss in the game.

Fans were not confident in the streamer’s ability to complete the title. While other titles by the Japanese studio are challenging in their own right, something sets Sekiro apart from its Soulsborne siblings.

Sekiro Is Soulsborne Fan’s Hardest Challenge, Even Among Titles Like Elden Ring and Dark Souls 2

Sekiro took a different approach to keep things fresh for FromSoftware's consumers.
Sekiro took a different approach to keep things fresh for FromSoftware’s consumers.

Sekiro is in a different league when it comes to difficulty because of a lot of reasons. However, if one wanted to highlight why the title is as notoriously difficult as it is compared to others, its approach instantly comes to mind.

Unlike other Soulsborne games, which allow you to customize your character and use a variety of builds and combinations for different bosses, Sekiro takes away that freedom from the player. While this may lead to less creative gameplay, the scope for a much more intricate design regarding bosses is significantly increased when one compares the title with something like Elden Ring.

For example, with titles like Elden Ring, the makers designed them so that any player, regardless of their builds and preferred weapons, found the boss challenging. But in Sekiro, all the focus went into fine-tuning the boss for each possible action the player took.

That is why, per many players, it becomes a rhythm game at some point. Which Soulsborne game do you find the most difficult? Let us know in the comments below.
