Elden Ring offers players the freedom to customize their characters with almost any loadout they wish. With the right gear, you can even mimic your favorite character or playstyle from other forms of media. Helldivers 2 is currently dominating the zeitgeist, and if you want to bring the charm of massive explosions and tons of fire to Elden Ring, you need to look no further than the Pyromancer build.
This build will transform your Tarnished into a walking nuke, able to melt foes and bosses alike with just a few spells. Let’s understand what you’ll need to make it work.
Bring the Beauty of Helldivers 2’s Explosive Gameplay to Elden Ring
The idea for this build comes from the diligent folks over at Fextralife. Many of the items you need for this build will be found later in the game, so the Pyromancer is ideal for someone looking to hop into NG+. You can start with any class, but your primary stats to upgrade will be Faith and Mind, so classes with points in those categories would be a better choice.
This is a pure faith build, as you will be dual-wielding seals. One is the Erdtree Seal, the best seal in the game, found near the Omenkiller in the town section of Volcano Manor. On your offhand, you can choose the Giant’s Seal for the 20% buff to Fire Monk and Giant’s Flame incantations or the Godslayer Seal.
Now, let’s talk spells. To recreate the destructiveness of Helldivers 2 armaments, you’ll need some truly destructive incantations. Burn, O Flame! is an AOE fire spell that’s great for dragons or other large enemies for multiple hits.
Flame of the Fell God and Giantsflame, Take Thee can be used in tandem for incredible damage. Finally, we have Flame, Fall Upon Them which can be used for regular mobs and acts like a cluster bomb. This spell can also be substituted with Black Flame.
Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength will help you buff your defense and damage. Feel free to experiment with other fire spells to find one that works for you; maybe equip Surge, O Flame! for that classic Helldivers 2 flamethrower feeling!
The Right Armor and Talisman’s Can Make You Into a Force of Nature
The Fire Scorpion charm will buff your fire attacks by 12% but also increase income physical damage by 10%; Dragoncrest Greatshield will negate incoming physical damage; Godfrey’s Icon will add more damage to any spells you charge; and Ritual Sword Talisman will buff your damage further when you are at full HP. Mixing and matching Talismans can make your character truly OP.
Keep your armor light so you can light-roll and avoid attacks. As for stats, aim for these values.
- Vigor: 50
- Mind: 50
- Faith: 80
The other stats are not as important, as you will only be casting spells. You can invest in Endurance for more stamina though. Split the flasks equally between HP and FP, so you never fall short on either.
