The 36-year-old British actress, Emilia Clarke has been in many well-appreciated movies, but her fame soared after playing the role of Daenerys Targaryen in the well-known fantasy drama series, Game of Thrones. Despite bagging roles from prominent franchises like The Terminator and Star Wars she was never been spotted in a superhero movie until the Secret Invasion happened.

Currently, she is counted among the Hollywood A-list actors, all thanks to her choice of movies and her method of acting. The four-time Emmy-nominated actor has a nice acting resume under her belt, but despite that, she was missing one column, the column of superhero movies. She did get a chance earlier to play a character in one of the MCU movies but unfortunately lost it. However, in recent times, she has been featured in one of the Marvel superhero miniseries.

Emilia Clarke called The Avengers silly after losing her role in Iron Man 3

In one of the Instagram posts, shared by Drew Pearce, he revealed that Emilia Clarke was supposed to be in Iron Man 3, but unfortunately, things didn’t work out. Back then she was busy filming the Game of Thrones finale and had to drop her role from Iron Man 3. However, post her GOT career, when The Sunday Times interviewed her asking about her take on playing a superhero role, she said.

“I think, if I did, it would be me having a giggle,” she further added. “I want to do something absolutely stupid and silly, like, you know, The Avengers or whatever. Something where I got to have a giggle with mates.”

It symbolized her eagerness to work in one of the biggest superhero franchises, Marvel. Soon enough Marvel paid attention to it, and she was offered the role of a superhero for the Marvel miniseries, Secret Invasion. She lost her first chance but didn’t recite the same story anymore. Coming out of an intense series like Game of Thrones after working for continuous eight seasons, there is no denying that she was looking for some light-hearted drama.

While the 36-year-old British actress might have played the role of a superhero in Secret Invasion for fun, her fans loved it for real and wanted more of her. The Marvel star has immense potential, as she is known for her versatility in acting. No denying the fact that the MCU is elevated by having her in the league but it will only be justified if she gets more screen time.

Emilia Clarke Joined The MCU Even Though She Couldn’t Land The Role In Iron Man 3

The 36-year-old British actress played the role of a Skrull named G’iah in one of the smallest miniseries ever released by Marvel. The series has a total runtime of 3hrs 43 mins, and it consists of only six episodes. Like many other Marvel characters, G’iah is also a character made of tragedy and hardships. In the series, it has been portrayed that she can go up to any extent to protect her fellow Skrulls, as she is the most powerful character in Marvel’s Phase Five.

After the miniseries premiered it wasn’t accepted that well either by the critics or by the audiences.  The character that has been offered to her doesn’t have that much character development, neither is it comic-accurate to a lot of extent. As a result, there is no official confirmation about launching a second season. But the fans of Emilia Clarke deserve more than this and hope to see her character intervening in the multiverse of Marvel in the future.

Secret Invasion is currently streaming at Disney+
