Emily Blunt compliments husband John Krasinski for Hagrid’s voice impression

Actress Emily Blunt appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and spoke to Josh Horowitz about her work as Kitty Oppenheimer being recognized by the Academy. During the conversation, the host asked the actress who is married to John Krasinski, and the couple shares two daughters about their bedtime story routine.

Horowitz asked Blunt about who is better at bedtime story voices to which she said,

“We’re both pretty good at the voices. I mean I don’t want to be competitive but I mean his are fantastic but we’re into a Harry Potter kick right now and my Snape is not bad. John does a great Hagrid and my little one does a really good Dumbledore.”

In shorts released apart from the main interview, Josh Horowitz revealed to the actress that the makers are rebooting the series for television to which the actress reacted surprised and asked him,

“Are they? Wait. New Kids? Are there new books?”

The host explained that the makers have decided to do a more fully fleshed-out series and get into the nitty-gritty. He added that the actress could play Hermonie (played by Emma Watson in the Harry Potter movies). The host assured the actress that she could play anyone if she set her mind to it to which Blunt replied by saying sure she can but not playing an eight-year-old.

Emily Blunt describes Cillian Murphy as ‘captivating’

Ahead of the Academy Awards 2024 event, the Oscars Nominees Luncheon was held in Beverly Hills, California where Blunt decided to explain why the audience was so captivated by Oppenheimer. During a group interview with People Magazine, she shared while complimenting Cillian Murphy;

“There is a reverence that you are so deserving of. And you are like, this quietest conductor of this whole thing. You don’t mean to be—it’s not in your nature to want to lead—but I think that there’s something just captivating about you, whether you like it or not, that people are spellbound by.”

The actress further noted,

“And it is. As much as you like to say, ‘This is all of Christopher Nolan’, why people are so captivated by this film, but it’s you.”

Robert Downey Jr. who played Levis Strauss in the movie and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance had a very similar opinion as he went on to praise Murphy’s leadership. He added that Murphy is meant and born to be at the front of a big cinematic experience.

Matt Damon also shared with People last summer that the real problem while doing a scene with Murphy is his deep-blue eyes, which can be distracting as you’d find yourself swimming in them.

Cillian Murphy who played J. Robert Oppenheimer is nominated for Best Actor at the 96th Academy Awards which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on March 10th.
