Following the success of Poor Things, Emma Stone is set for her next movie. This shows her career is going strong, with her getting important roles in big projects back to back. She is once again collaborating with Yorgos Lanthimos—marking their fifth project together.
It’s been recently confirmed that Stone and Lanthimos will team up for his next film Kinds of Kindness. That’s not all. The actress has also agreed to star in Lanthimos’ remake of the South Korean fantasy comedy Save the Green Planet.
Emma Stone Lands Yet Another Role in a Yorgos Lanthimos Film
Emma Stone is discussing starring in Yorgos Lanthimos’ remake of South Korean fantasy comedy Save the Green Planet.
The movie is a dark comedy about a disillusioned young man. He captures and tortures a businessman he thinks is part of an alien invasion. This leads to a battle of wits involving the captor, his loyal girlfriend, the businessman, and a private detective.
The movie will start filming in the summer in the U.K. and New York after years of development. Stone is expected to have a supporting role. The actress and director have worked together three times and have two more projects coming up (including this one).
Their first project together was The Favourite, followed by Bleat, Poor Things and their upcoming film is Kinds of Kindness. Their recent collaboration Poor Things received 11 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Director, Actress, and Supporting Actor.
When it was released in 2003, Green Planet became a cult hit and was loved by festival-goers, winning awards at fantasy festivals in Bucheon, Buenos Aires, and Brussels, as well as markets like Rotterdam, Tokyo Filmex, and Moscow. Jang also won the Golden Bell Award for Best New Director in Korea for the film.

Emma Stone remains a top contender for Best Actress. That is why fans are eager to see her next project. She is set to appear in Yorgos Lanthimos next film Kinds of Kindness.
Unlike Lanthimos’ previous films, this flick will be an anthology. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the 50-year-old filmmaker shared some important information about the film. He said:
“It’s a contemporary film, set in the US – three different stories, with four or five actors who play one part in each story, so they all play three different parts. It was almost like making three films, really.”
The Arizona native won’t be the only familiar face from Lanthimos’ films in the ensemble. Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley, who were in Poor Things with Stone, are also part of the cast. Joe Alwyn, known for his role in The Favourite, will reunite with the director as well.
Kinds of Kindness’ release date hasn’t been announced yet. But since filming finished a year ago, it’s highly probable it will come out by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
