Thus, following the recent live-action movie, The Little Mermaid, the Studio confirmed taking a dip into the classic story of The Princess and the Frog. Thereafter, Disney has been making headlines for reportedly eyeing Black Panther star, Lupita Nyong’o as Tiana.

However, following the unconfirmed reports of the MCU actress appearing as a Disney character, racists gathered on Twitter to express their opinions on the alleged casting. Sharing their demand for Emma Stone to take up the role, following her phenomenal performance as Cruella de Vil, fans started slamming Disney for its reported progressive step.

After white-washing Mulan’s story and making a progressive choice of casting a black woman as Ariel, the movie production giant is reportedly eyeing an MCU actress of color for the role of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog.

With reports surfacing about Disney developing a live-action version of The Princess and the Frog, netizens went frenzy to witness the remake of the much-loved animated movie. However, following the rumors of casting Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o as a potential lead actor for the film, fans apparently went numb.

Disney has been trying to remake The Princess and the Frog story and even bring a solo spin-off for the pivotal character Tiana, for a long time. After the animated musical feature was released in 2009, a television spin-off titled Tiana was announced in December 2020 for Disney+. However, in January 2022 Studio heads expressed their interest in developing a live-action film adaptation, over a TV series.

Netizens Oppose Disney And Demand Emma Stone

Ever since Disney announced The Princess and the Frog being under development, fans have been waiting to unravel the suspense of which actress the studio might cast as Tiana. However, with recent rumors suggesting the movie production giant’s alleged decision to cast Lupita Nyong’o as the pivotal character, fans went totally rogue.

Opposing Disney with their racist ideas and bigotry, netizens have been demanding Emma Stone to appear as Tiana. Following Stone’s enchanting villainous performance as Cruella de Vil, fans have been begging Disney to cast the legendary actress. Trying to whitewash another Disney story about an African American character with racism, netizens have been stating their demands on Twitter.

Although Disney is yet to confirm if they would cast the Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as Tiana, or someone else, fans seem to have already waged war against the production giant.
