Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie used to be among one of the most influential couples in Hollywood. The limelight was theirs to have everywhere they went. The limelight continues to be on them even after years of their separation. Most times it is because of a new lawsuit that has been filed by either of them or because of their court case for their children’s custody.
Over the years, many details of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s relationship have been seen online. There has been constant speculation about what led to their separation and if everything they say is true. In 2022, Jolie’s lawyers alleged that Pitt poured beer and wine on his children.
Brad Pitt Was Accused of Abusing His Kids
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been linked for decades now. It all began when they starred in the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2003. At the time, Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston whom he divorced in 2005. Rumors had it the actor’s involvement with the Maleficent actress resulted in his divorce from Aniston.
Jolie and Pitt got married in 2014, but divorced two years later thus, ending their 12-year relationship. The couple shares six children- sons Maddox and Pax Thien, daughters Zahara Marley and Shiloh Nouvel, and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline.
In a cross-complaint filed as part of the legal battle over the winery Chateau Miraval that the couple owned, a description of Pitt’s physical and verbal outburst in September 2016 was included. It was reported by the New York Times and details the incident which happened during the Jolie-Pitt family’s flight from France to California.
The court papers read:
“Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall. Pitt then punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.”
It was further alleged that the children tried to protect their mother from further abuse only to be abused by their father. The papers also claimed (via the New York Times) that Pitt “poured beer on Jolie” and “poured beer and red wine on the children”. Soon after this incident, Jolie filed for a divorce from her husband citing irreconcilable differences.
Brad Pitt’s Representative Accused Jolie of Bluffing
The claims in the cross-complaint were bound to be retaliated by Brad Pitt. The allegations were opposed by Pitt’s representative who had some rather harsh things to say about Angelina Jolie. The rep told The Hollywood Reporter that Jolie
“continues to rehash, revise and reimagine her description of an event that happened 6 years ago by adding completely untrue information each time she fails to get what she wants. Her story is constantly evolving.”
It is hard to say which of these parties is being truthful without proper evidence to support the allegations. As of now, there have been no such revelations.
