Platforms like the Epic Games store are no strangers to giving freebies, especially around the holiday season. We just passed by Easter, and it appears Epic is still feeling the happy vibes as it has decided to add a new game to the list of free items.
The platform doesn’t always advertise their freebies, and while not all may be everyone’s cup of tea, there are some bangers on the list. As for an upcoming game, we hope you like heights and fast-paced combat. Also, it won’t stay free for long, so add it as soon as it’s available!
Epic Games Store’s Free Games Will Run You Up the Walls
Anyone who is diligent with adding free games from the store to their account would have noticed the inclusion. But, for those of you who do not frequent that page, Ghostrunner is going to be free from April 11–18. This is a returning title to the free lineup, but a great opportunity for anyone who missed out on bagging it the first time.
The air is cold, the vibes are cozy, and the games are free 😌

Ghostrunner was previously offered as a free game in December 2023. This would have been around Christmas and the New Year. Epic Games even put out a tweet on their official handle to announce the title’s limited offer. We are not sure why they decided to bring it back so soon, but if you haven’t been able to add it to your list, now’s your chance.
Ghostrunner is a first-person platforming and action game developed by One More Level and released in October 2020. Set in a cyberpunk future, players take control of a GR-74, or Jack, the last active Ghostrunner who has some peculiar voices in his head, causing him to turn against his programming.
A sequel, Ghostrunner 2, was released in October 2023 and acted as a respectable next step in the franchise. Before you jump headfirst into the series, check out the Ghostrunner 2 review before taking a leap of faith, and read on to know what gameplay across both titles will demand of you.
Ghostrunner Requires Quick Reflexes and Spatial Awareness
The game’s hook to get you engaged is fast-paced platforming sequences that require the player to be aware of their surroundings. Platforming is not just for getting around; it plays a big part in fights as many bosses need to be reached to be taken down. Check out some of the tips you can use in the sequel to perform even better. Thankfully, the controls are tight and easy to understand, but difficult enough to master that it becomes a challenge.
While you will have to wait for Ghostrunner, you can scratch your first-person POV itch with the current two free games: Thief and The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition. Both are very different games, but they have been received quite well by the gaming community.
Thief is a stealth-focused, first-person game that offers players a mission-based experience. The Outer Worlds is more of an RPG setting, giving players the freedom to explore the world while upgrading their characters with skills.
