It has become widely known now that the children of the OG Avengers actors don’t always admire their parents in superhero attire. Surprisingly, they tend to favor other superheroes in the clan over their parents’ iconic roles. In the case of Robert Downey Jr., his child, Exton, has a particular fondness for Hawkeye. Consequently, in order to have a ‘talk’ with his son, the actor had to enlist the help of Exton’s favorite hero and to make the conversation more impactful and sincere.

“And Jeremy said, ‘Listen, this is Hawkeye talking. You can’t put a stick in your eye because then you won’t be able to use the bow and arrow at 300 yards, and take out the bad guy.”

Hawkeye Worships Robert Downey Jr as His Mentor!

A subtle flex Robert Downey Jr. can brag about is that although his son passionately admires Hawkeye, even more impressively, Hawkeye himself considers Downey as his mentor. This showcases Downey’s influence and impact not only as a beloved character but also as an inspiration to his fellow superheroes. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Renner revealed,

“I think even just in the MCU, with Downey, he kind of kicked off the MCU in the way that he did with Iron Man. He kind of took us all under his wing, if you will, to kind of shepherd us in in a certain way. We all knew each other and we’re all friends, just in a different sort of way you can lean on someone.”
