Bethesda is known for creating sprawling open worlds teeming with life and things to do, and their latest game, Starfield, will be no different. Given that director Todd Howard said that the game will have over a 1000 planets for players to explore, players are in store for yet another game to sink hundreds of hours into.

What are the minimum requirements for running Starfield on PC?

Starting with the CPU, players will need an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or an Intel Core i7-6800K which will set players back in the range of $185–$215. As for the graphics card, the most expensive component, players will need either an AMD Radeon RX 5700 or an NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti which will cost them $350–$400.

Coming to the rest of the requirements for Starfield’s minimum specs, players will need 16GB of RAM, estimated to cost between $80–$150. The storage for Starfield comes in at 125 GB on an SSD which will cost between $150–$290. Lastly, the operating system (OS) for Starfield is Windows 10 (21H1 version) along with DirectX Version 12.

Taking the higher end of these price estimates, players will need to shell out a whopping $1055, while an Xbox Series X costs $499. So you could potentially buy two Xbox Series X’s with money to spare as compared to the buying the parts for running Starfield at its lowest settings.

What are the recommended requirements for running Starfield on PC?

To run Starfield at its recommended setting, players will need an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or Intel i5-10600K for the CPU, which will cost them somewhere between $150–$210. As for the graphics card, again the most expensive component, PC players will need an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 which will set them back $500–$800. Even at its lowest, the GPU costs the same as a new Xbox Series X!
