Kohei Horikoshi is one of the best mangaka of the modern generation. His magnum opus, My Hero Academia, has sold millions of copies. Since the manga was adapted into an anime, it gained worldwide popularity, and subsequently, its viewership also increased with each season. The mangaka is pretty popular among the fans, and they love to watch Deku getting closer to his dreams.
Even though Horikoshi’s magic hands created one of the greatest pieces of fiction, there is a particular character that he would not like to be friends with. Fans found it shocking after knowing that he felt like that towards his creation. The character who made Kohei Horikoshi made him feel that way is none other than Bakugo Katsuri.
Kohei Horikoshi Maintains A Safe Distance From Bakugo
Kohei Horikoshi began the serialization of My Hero Academia in 2014, and since then, it has gained massive popularity. It follows the journey of a boy named Izuku Midoriya. He idolizes All Might, the number one Hero in the world. Unfortunately, in a world where most of the people have quirks, he was born quirkless. But that does not stop him from pursuing his becoming the number one Hero. He joined the top hero institution and made a lot of friends.
Even though there are several likable characters, the most popular one is Bakugo Katsuri. Bakugo is a bully and always tries to look down on Deku since he is quirkless. Even at the institution, Horikoshi made sure to make them fight and show his true nature. He tried his best to portray him as a short-tempered kid, but it only made him popular.
During the Jump Festa 2016, he gave an interview. He was asked whether he would try to hang out or spend time with Bakugo Katsuri, and Kohei Horikoshi answered, “No way! I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near him.” It won’t be wrong to say that the mangaka is also afraid of Bakugo’s explosive nature even though he created the character.
My Hero Academia’s Bakugo Katsuri Is Growing As A Person
Initially, Bakugo Katsuri was a menace since he got his mother’s personality. But as the story progressed, fans found him to be short-tempered and got to experience his human side. Even though Bakugo was a bully, everyone loved him. Through the story, he becomes mature and suffers many defeats that help him grow as a person.
Horikoshi’s interview was conducted in 2016, and a lot of time has passed since then. After watching Bakugo for the past few years, the mangaka may have had a change of heart. Even though he mentioned prohibiting himself from socializing with Bakugo, a cup of coffee with a matured Bakugo could actually be fun.
But knowing Bakugo, he might bring out his Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight personality instead. He would take some time before bringing out his inner self. Nonetheless, Bakugo is a great character and has all the potential to become one of the best heroes. It will be interesting to see how long till Kohei Horikoshi admits to want to socialize with him.
