But one of Hollywood’s biggest controversies originating from the night of the 94th Academy Awards due to his actions has hidden those accolades behind a dark curtain of spite from the public. Despite all of this, Chris Rock, the victim of Smith’s actions recently revealed that there was a time when he was concerned about the star, especially when his wife cheated on him.

The most popular and controversial incident from the night of the 94th Academy Awards was not something related to the awards or the winners, but it was related to the incident when Will Smith decided to physically assault Chris Rock, who was the host for the night. The slap was initiated by the Bad Boys star due to Rock making a joke at his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s expense, something that she didn’t appreciate. But recently, Rock came on stage to open up about his side of this experience with something more along with it.

During his latest live event as a Netflix special titled Selective Outrage, Rock got up on stage and continued the show with his classic sense of humor. Then, he also went on to open up about how he felt when the controversial incident took place, also revealing the fact that he had always respected the star, so much that when Pinkett Smith had an affair, he was one of the first people to contact Smith, which was left unanswered by the Hancock star. He then went on to share his piece of mind with everyone who was present in the audience. During the show, Rock said:

“Will Smith practices selective outrage. Because what the fuck happened, everybody that really knows I had nothing to do with that shit. I didn’t have any ‘entanglements.’ I did not have any entanglements. For everybody who doesn’t know, his wife was fucking her son’s friend. I normally wouldn’t not talk about this shit. But for some reason these [racial slur], put that shit on the Internet. I have no idea why two talented people would do something that lowdown. We’ve all been cheated on, everybody in here has been cheated on. None of us has ever been interviewed by the person who cheated on us on television… Why the fuck would you do that shit? She hurt him way more than he hurt me. OK? Everybody in the world called him a b*tch. I tried to call that man and give him my condolences, he didn’t pick up for me. … Everybody called him a b*tch, and who did he hit? Me – a [slur] he knows he could beat. That is some b*tch-ass shit!”

Thus, after almost a year since the incident took place, Chris Rock finally settled his side of the controversy with his honest opinions.
