Stellar Blade, the action-adventure game by Shift Up has managed to create quite a hype around it. Shift Up’s upcoming game is scheduled to release on April 26 and will mark the studio’s entry into console gaming. Moreover, as the game will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, it will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Stellar Blade will allow the players to play as Eve and she will be joined by others to free the Earth from Alien invasion. In the gameplay, Eve, together with her team, has to battle the aliens to reclaim planet Earth.

Fans have always been in awe of Eve when they got to see her during the initial trailer launch during the January 2024 State of Play. The internet was buzzing with appreciation for her stunning looks, especially her long hair which the developers recently revealed was not an easy task to achieve.

Apart from the online discussions regarding Eve’s stunning looks, fans got to see a little more of the game in the form of a demo which came out on March 29. Stellar Blade’s demo that came to the PS5 opens with Airborne Squad 7, the unit led by Eve, where she and her team are landing on District 3, a region of the planet Earth. The main objective of the team is to prevent an invasion by the alien enemies referred to as the Naytibas.

However, things don’t go according to plan as the Squad’s ship blows up in orbit. Following a turn of events where Eve tries to come out safely from the accident, the game immediately throws the players into combat.

Fans got an idea of the upcoming game within these first ten minutes, and they battled various factions of the alien race with some easy, and some difficult foes.  Players also came face to face with the tutorial boss: a bloated Brute with two wrecking balls for hands.

Fans came out on X to praise and talk about their experience with the game’s demo. According to many, the gameplay had a similar feel to games such as Nier and Star Wars. The game was also appreciated for its stunning visuals and very well-optimized performance. As players encountered some of the alien enemies in the game, they were also happy with how the combat worked out.

Apart from encountering enemies in the demo, players also got to see more of the protagonist Eve, and how her combat mechanics work out in the game. However, out of all, one particular combat mechanic of Eve caught the eyes of several fans.

Fans first saw a glimpse of Eve during the game’s trailer launch, and since then the protagonist has been in the news for her good looks. Fans also got to see her fighting a hybrid monster robot with her iconic sword i.e. the Stellar Blade, and this caught their eyes.

Moreover, when fans got to see the demo, it hit all the right notes for an engaging action game. In the demo, Eve is seen with her iconic sword, and to the surprise of many, she is not equipped with many other weapons.

Therefore, from what it looks like, the Stellar Blade will be Eve’s main weapon, and as the game progresses, players will be able to upgrade the Stellar Blade to improve its swing speed and critical hit rate.
