Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was never going to be on par with what Rocksteady Studios has done with its Batman: Arkham games, but players still had some hopes about it. However, players have been disappointed with how it turned out to be, and they are already bored.

The game’s player count has been dropping drastically, largely because of the game’s live service elements, several bugs and issues that players are facing, the open world, which is a huge step backward, and much more. The players are now pointing out that the game is a massive failure, and even some other live-service titles that failed did better than this.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Player Count Keeps Dwindling on Steam

The game was released on February 2, 2024, and saw several issues that prompted developers to fix it. The game has only been out for two weeks, and despite having a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, the game has been losing players every day and currently only has nearly a thousand players playing it.

As per SteamDB, the game’s all-time peak concurrent player count is 13,459, and that came 15 days ago, which is around the release, and it has been unchanged since then. The 24-hour peak player count is 2,336; it keeps dropping. The lowest player count recorded is 916, which came on February 16, and it has been around 1-2k since then.

Only 1,031 players are in the game at the time of writing, and it says a lot about how disappointed players are with Rocksteady’s latest release. The main reason behind the game losing players could be that players have finished the story mode and are now not finding the game worth playing.

The developers seem to have some ideas to bring back players and have announced a massive patch that could make things better, but that seems to be in vain now as players are flocking towards the newly released multiplayer Helldivers 2.

Players React to Kill the Justice League’s Failure

Players are pointing out how the game was destined to fail with multiple delays and controversy around it, but they are surprised to see how soon it’s failing. A player took to X/Twitter and stated that even games like Marvel’s Avengers and Redfall, which were massive failures, did better than this title.

This is true, as Avengers has an all-time player count of 31,165. Players added that despite the game failing badly, “fanboys” will still keep calling it “funnest” and say that a lack of players is a “conspiracy.” Some fans also defended, saying these are just numbers on PC and many players are playing on consoles.

One player added that this has ruined the developer’s reputation, and the team could also face layoffs. Players also said that this game’s failure has surely brought players back to the Arkham trilogy, as the games in the series have seen a huge spike in player numbers.
