Ever since Fallout’s TV adaptation made it to Prime Video, gamers have been jumping back into the post-apocalyptic world known for incredible stories and memes. Bethesda has practically created a legacy, more than just a game, in the context of Fallout and all its goofy moments.
Helldivers 2 hasn’t evaded this by any means. In fact, players have started recreating memes from Fallout 4, and Preston Garvey is here too, whether you like it or not. It’s time for another settlement (planet, in this case?) that needs your help.
Preston Garvey’s Impeccable and Annoying Presence in Helldivers 2
At its core, Helldivers 2 is a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Especially when you consider all the goofy and hilarious moments that take place in the game. Millions of players are enjoying the game, and for a very good reason, even Fallout 4 is enjoying a peak of more than 75,000 players (at the time of writing).
The instantly-recognizable character Preston Garvey from Fallout 4 has made his way to Helldivers 2, thanks to user Traditional_Ask_2748 on Reddit. Preston stands right near the control centre, letting players know that there’s yet another planet that needs their attention. Clearly, the Helldiver looks exhausted, because that’s any sane person who crosses paths with Preston.
The comments section seems to mirror the memories and nostalgia of everyone who has done quests for Preston in Fallout 4. Everything from doing the basic things like building/moving furniture to saving people in crisis.
In a perfect world, Preston Garvey likely has nothing to do with Helldivers, but thanks to netizens, that’s a far-fetched reality.
Fallout 4’s Preston Garvey Tests Your Patience, Over and Over Again
If you’re unaware of who this incredible character is, well, there’s still time and you can stop reading this article. In all seriousness though, Preston is one of the earliest characters you meet in FO4. He’s part of the Commonwealth Minuteman, a group of survivors who are trying to do the right thing.
If players choose to journey with Preston, they’ll encounter a lot of different threats in the game’s vast world, and there will be times where they feel overwhelmed by anything that goes against them. More often than not, the game’s randomess with events makes challenges daunting rather than fun.
Even that is okay with most players. The problem arises when Prestons pesters you with random quests that ask you to help another settlement. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for your son, finding a solution to humanity’s brokenness or taking you dog for a walk. Preston doesn’t care.
If you’ve played the game, how have your encounters with the character been? Share your experience with us in the comments below, before he asks you to help yet another settlement.
