The next-gen update of Fallout 4 was supposed to revive the nine-year-old title. Bethesda, too, promised that this update would take the RPG to a whole new level. But as it seems, things are not going the way they were planned to.
After this update, playing Fallout 4 on PC and PlayStation has become a nightmare for fans. Not only that, the modders of the game are having a very bad time after the next-gen patch. And among them, Fallout: London is one of the prime sufferers.
Fallout: London Suffers Due to the Next-Gen Update
In a recent interview, the Project Lead of Fallout: London, Dean Carter, expressed his dissatisfaction with Bethesda due to the next-gen update. He states that the company didn’t inform them before the launch of the new patch. In his words, it has, “for a lack of a better term, screwed us over.”
Fallout: London had to push back its release date due to the next-gen patch. The mod was supposed to come out on April 23. Carter explained that the initial “day that would work well for us would be after the series had come out, and also, it had to be related to when the in-game start date is as well as being St. George’s Day.”
Carter and his team have been tweaking and testing to get things as stable as possible for the fans in time for that release. But with the new update just dropping 48 hours later, the hard work of these modders did not bear fruit.
The Next-Gen Update Might Push Back Fallout to the Older Generation
The newest patch in Fallout 4 might result in the biggest downfall of the game. As promised, in this update, the game was about to introduce an ultrawide support option. Instead, the game screen has been stretched recklessly, which has made the HUD and user interface awful. Along with it, the game is still unable to be played at 60 FPS on the Creation Engine.
A nightmare for the RTX fans as well, because they have been facing serious game crashes for the “weapon debris” graphics settings.

On the other hand, the next-generation update is making life tough for PlayStation fans. After updating the patch, fans are instructed on the game screen that they have to buy the PlayStation 5 version separately, despite having it in the PlayStation 4 library bought through the PS Plus subscription. Bethesda was quick to respond amidst the desolate situation, but there has been no fix for this issue so far.
The next-gen update has become a big setback for the Fallout: London mod. Let’s see how it overcomes the situation.
