Fallout games have seen a rise in popularity since Prime Video’s TV series was launched last month, and Fallout 3 has also seen some effects from it. One fan has recreated the iconic town of the game, Megaton, in Far Cry 5’s arcade mode, and it may be the best creation seen so far in arcade mode.

The recreation looks amazing in the game, and the fan has managed to stay faithful to the original look of the town. While it is surely exciting to see the town in Ubisoft’s game, it also shows that the renowned publisher has not been able to crack the full potential of the popular franchise.

The iconic town has been recreated by YouTuber Mojo Swoptops, who showcased it via a video on YouTube, and it is truly stunning. The town is the first location that players visit in the game once they escape Vault 101. The video shows the player slowly entering the city and walking to the undetonated bomb.

The surroundings of the post-apocalyptic town are also well shown in the recreation, as you can see the radiation-filled pond near the bomb, Moira’s store, and several other things. However, there is nowhere else to go other than walking to the bomb, as the areas are blocked by a wall, a bus, and a few other things.

What’s more amazing about Mojo Swoptops’ creation is that the YouTuber has used the original UI of the game, which could make one feel like they are walking into the town in a next-gen title. However, several things are missing in the creation, such as the quest to blow up Megaton in Moriarty’s Saloon and joining the Church of the Children of Atom, among others.

Ubisoft Needs to Do Something New in Far Cry 7

Even though players are not able to do much in this rendition of the town, the creation shows what can be achieved with the Far Cry engine. Also considering how well Megaton looks in the video with limited arcade tools, Ubisoft is miles away from achieving what it can with the franchise, but there is still a chance to fix that with the next installment, Far Cry 7.

There have been six installments in the franchise, with the last entry released back in 2021, which wasn’t what players hoped for and fell flat. While Far Cry 5 was released with the creation tool in arcade mode, the next title did not bring back the feature, and it is just one of the problems that players found with the game.

Players said that the game did not feel like Far Cry as it missed almost all aspects of the franchise, such as hunting, crafting, skill trees, and more. Many also did not like the setting, and it’s probably time Ubisoft took the game to a post-apocalyptic setting. It wouldn’t be too bad as the franchise has already visited a few thousand years ago with Primal.
