Season 2 of the superhit Disney+ series Loki was an immense success, and an incredible amount of credit for this goes to Jonathan Majors’ immaculate performance as Kang the Conqueror’s variants. However, even Marvel is reportedly stepping away from the controversial actor and his further projects in the franchise following the legal troubles surrounding him (he was arrested earlier this year over multiple assault charges), even though he pleaded not guilty.

But that’s not the case with the fans who, after watching his tremendous performance in the blockbuster series Loki, are rallying for Majors to continue to reprise his role in the franchise in the upcoming projects as well.

After Jonathan Majors was dropped by his management agency and almost all of his big-screen projects were either sacked, recast, or postponed, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, too, is now reported to be attempting to step away from the star and his future projects with the franchise.

Not only this but they are also rumored to bring about Doctor Doom as the new big bad villain very soon to steer the Multiverse Saga away from Kang the Conqueror as the main antagonist.

However, after watching Loki season 2, fans are completely against this reported change. Taking to X, numerous fans have highlighted how much Majors’ performance has affected the success of Loki season 2, and are even rallying for the MCU to keep the remarkable actor and his character.

Even though fans rallying this hard for an actor is a huge thing in itself, especially for a franchise like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, as of now, Jonathan Majors’ presence seems rather wobbly and uncertain in the MCU.

While fans are doing everything in their power to see more of Jonathan Majors’ performance on the big screen in the upcoming Marvel projects, it seems that their efforts might be in vain following a recent report claiming that the MCU has sidelined the controversial actor.

During a recent episode of the House of R Ringer podcast, the author of MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios Joanna Robinson revealed that the studio is reportedly steering away from Kang the Conqueror being the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga.

“I heard from someone recently… the screenwriter Jeff Loveness, who wrote Quantumania, was supposed to write The Kang Dynasty… anyway, it’s confirmed. I had it confirmed to me he’s no longer working for Marvel,” Robinson said. “I asked the person why, and they said the reason why is he was all wrapped up in this Kang storyline and they are likely going to be moving away from that.”

Considering how Jeff Loveness is reportedly dropped from all writing duties for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty–presumably for two reasons: 1. Because of the screenwriter’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania failure, and 2. Because they no longer want Kang as the central villain–Majors’ future in the franchise seems uncertain.

Since he had already filmed his scenes as Victor Timely and He Who Remains for Loki season 2 months before his arrest in March earlier this year, he got to appear in the superhit series. However, even though his future seems uncertain in the franchise, it’s worth noting that the season finale of the series left the threat of Majors’ Kang still intact in the MCU, so that could bring about something.

Furthermore, fans rallying for him might also help in favoring Jonathan Majors‘ situation in the MCU, considering how even Marvel is on the verge of downfall, and right now, listening and adhering to fans’ needs and wants just might help it stay afloat.
