Not many will pit themselves against the God of War, Kratos, who has so far defeated several others, including Ares, Zeus, and Poseidon. On the other hand, the Mad Titan Thanos has had his share of kills that include several Marvel heroes, including a violent ripping of Iron Man in half.

Fans put the two to the test, and the opinions varied, with some of them favoring the God of War while others siding with the Mad Titan. There could be no way to get a definitive answer, but for now, fans have come up with interesting theories.

Kratos From the Original God of War Trilogy Beats Thanos

As mighty as both Thanos and Kratos are, pitting them against each other to get a definitive answer would be an impossible task. A post on Facebook recently brought together close to 2,000 comments as fans tried to justify their choice.

One of the major responses in favor of Kratos was that Kratos from the original trilogy of games would win against Thanos, while Kratos from the recently released games may not be strong enough to win. Others replied to that argument by stating that older Kratos is just holding back his rage, and if he doesn’t pull his punches, older Kratos would also win hands down.

Some of the replies mentioned how Thanos has needed the Infinity Stones to add to his armor to defeat mighty heroes, while Kratos would still win as he’s defeated several gods by himself. As for those who sided with Thanos to win the fight against the God of War himself, there were several justifications while arguing how the comic-accurate Thanos would win the fight hands down.

This Is Why Thanos Beats Kratos Without the Infinity Stones

Fans who favor Thanos argue that the Mad Titan from the comics will destroy Kratos.

Those favoring Thanos suggested that the Mad Titan from the comics could end up being far too gruesome for Kratos to beat. In the 2018 comic book Thanos Wins, the storyline had the Avengers launch a desperate final attack on the Mad Titan.

As the title indicates, Thanos ends up being far too strong for the entire team of Avengers, and amid the battle, Iron Man gets ripped in half. Of course, the entire battle is narrated by Frank Castle in the comic, who does his best to stop the deadly premonition from coming true.

This does, however, go on to show why Thanos is named the Mad Titan. Driven by insanity over trying to finally defeat Death itself, Thanos not only acquires all six Infinity Stones but also rampages his way through the Avengers and stands tall over his destruction.

This was the argument given by several fans in the Facebook post: that the Mad Titan based on the comics could just be far too much for the God of War. Kratos, on the other hand, also shouldn’t be discounted, as his Blades of Chaos and his Leviathan Axe have been used to defeat Ares, Odin, and Thor as well.
