Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have been married for the past 25 years. Despite what she recently revealed about their separation back in 2016, the duo has stuck through thick and thin even during one of their most controversial moments in life.
While fans admire their long-lasting relationship, Pinkett was recently under fire from the same fans when she called the late rapper Tupac Shakur, her soulmate.
Well, this isn’t the first time the actress has said something that might offend fans and they certainly are offended after witnessing what went down at the Oscars in 2022.
Jada Pinkett Smith Offends Fans With ‘Soulmate’ Statement
Jada Pinkett Smith or the rest of the Smiths are often in and out of the news. Sometimes for good and sometimes for bad. Well this time, it is Pinkett who is in the line of fire because of her ‘soulmate’ comments. During an interview with Rolling Out, the actress stated that her friend and late rapper, Tupac Shakur was her soulmate and not her husband of the past 25 years.
“A soulmate, yeah. If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think Pac and I have traveled a few together. You know, in various forms.”
However, she added that their ‘relationship’ never blossomed due to a lack of chemistry between them,
“It just wasn’t possible. There was no chemistry between us. I talk about it in the book, you know. … It’s that friendship-love chemistry, trust me.”
While Will Smith did not react to his wife’s comments, fans were certainly enraged as they exclaimed on X (previously Twitter). While certain fans exclaimed that Pinkett never misses an opportunity to embarrass her husband, others took a more brutal jibe claiming that the Aladdin star got banned for nothing from the Oscars for 10 years.

In an interview with People, she revealed that the duo has been leading separate lives since 2016.
“We’re still figuring it out. We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”
In a snippet of NBC News’s soon-to-be-released Prime Time Special with Hoda Kotb, she also stated that while they are legally married, they aren’t romantically involved anymore.
