Marvel Fans Were Not Pleased With Thor’s “RIP Loki” Tattoo

Because the God of Mischief was revived in the Disney+ series and he finally accomplished his mission to serve a glorious purpose, his powers have become so immense that he could finally control time. Fans thought this could be an opportunity for Loki to give the audience their peace of mind and fix Thor’s tattoos. Check out the post below:

Thor’s tattoos were supposed to be part of Thor: Ragnarok according to director Taika Waititi. The design would be a smaller one as a tribute to his brother’s supposed death in Thor: The Dark World. Waititi explained via Insider:

It was a comedy bit that was supposed to be in Ragnarok. When Loki faked his death, and he’s reunited with Thor and Thor can’t believe he’s alive, he was to say, ‘I mourned you, look I even got this stupid tattoo,’ and Thor lifts his sleeve, and it’s a tattoo that said, ‘RIP Loki.’

For some reason, the scene never made it to Thor 3, but the director was adamant about inserting it into the film one way or another. It was Kevin Feige who requested to make it bigger.

Meanwhile, other fans were touched by the gesture of using the tattoo scene in Thor 4 because it added more emotional depth to a grieving Thor.

Chris Hemsworth spoke with CinemaBlend and revealed that Thor almost got another forearm tattoo which was a tribute to his character’s passion for rollerblading that he shares with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. He said:

We had another tattoo reference as well. When we were talking about rollerblading. Was it ‘Blade… Once you blade, you never fade.’ Yeah. But that didn’t make it in the movie.”

Fans would surely conjure a way for Loki his use all of his powers to reverse time if Thor actually had that line inked on his skin.
