Two of the most powerful characters in their separate universes, Chainsaw Man’s Makima and Jujutsu Kaisen’s Satoru Gojo were recently pitched for a death battle. A post on the micro-blogging platform X has led to widespread debates about the winner of the fantasy battle.
Each character in question has different powers and abilities. Fans rallied behind their favorite and theorized who would come out on top in a potential crossover battle after assessing their strengths and weaknesses.

Who is Makima from Chainsaw Man & Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Makima was introduced as the leader of the Devil Hunter squad. Later, she turned out to be the primary antagonist of Chainsaw Man’s Public Safety Arc. Possessing the powers of the Control Devil, she manipulated Denji into doing her bidding and even got a contract from the Japanese Prime Minister that stated any fatal attacks inflicted on her would be transferred to a random citizen.
As the Control Devil and one of the Four Horsemen in Chainsaw Man, Makima embodies the fear of control. She has the power to brainwash people, rewrite their memories, and totally control an individual who she believes is inferior to her. Apart from Denji, she forces Aki and other Devil Hunters to sign a contract with her while also making the Angel Devil steal the life span of others.
Speaking of Satoru Gojo, the fan-favorite character from Jujutsu Kaisen can create barriers that are a distortion of space that freezes anything that it touches. He is the only person who can use the ‘Limitless’ technique combined with the boost given by the ‘Six-Eyes’ technique. Gojo also has various forms of Cursed Technique Reversal, red and blue, that either force the enemy backward or reel them in.
Satoru is the strongest sorcerer in the Kaisenverse. One of the major reasons for this is his ability to combine both red and blue techniques to create the Hollow Technique: Purple. The blast utterly destroyed Hanami. As such, the Six-Eyed Sorcerer is not one to be trifled with.

Fan Theories Believe Makima can defeat Satoru Gojo
@Chibi Reviews has sparked multiple debates and arguments on X with a post captioned, “If we use Makima’s full potential, Gojo will get destroyed eventually.” Chainsaw Man fans have backed the statement with their own theories.
One of the comments mentioned how Makima could just learn Gojo’s name from a spy and then be able to control him. It depends on whether she finds him ‘inferior’ in her mind. Another user mentioned how Makima could literally ‘crush’ someone after being able to control them.
She just has too many hax. Gojo can’t kill her and she could literally just learn his name using one of the dozens of spies she has, from a bird to a freakin squirrel, and then kill him via contract; without ever making physically contact with him. Ppl greatly underestimated her.

Makima is nearly immortal already. Satoru will need to kill her the amount of times of japan population to actually get rid of her immortality and I doubt she won’t be able to find a way in that period of time to defeat Satoru

On the contrary, some fans believe Gojo will get the win over Makima. After all, he does possess the Purple Technique and blast her way or could even seal her in another dimension.

Makima is literally shown to be useless against anyone who is faster and has higher durability than her😭 all pochita did was blitz her in that fight and she only stood a chance bc she had a multi year plan in place based on her power system(which doesnt apply to gojo)

A wiser answer was given by @fate_lonley, who mentioned that unless Makima somehow was able to control Gojo by considering him inferior, it meant the end for her. It doesn’t seem likely that Satoru would’ve given her a chance to consider him not a credible threat.
The fight goes in two ways, Makima sees herself above Gojo and commands him, or Gojo just kills her.

Both Makima and Gojo are supposedly dead in their universes. While Satoru was seemingly killed by Sukuna, Makima was killed by Denji. The Control Devil reincarnated as a different person following her death.
