The last few years of the franchise have been tumultuous to say the least with fans expressing dissatisfaction with the frequency and quality of games being released. By way a comment from Xbox head Phil Spencer we now know that a new Call of Duty title is likely to release in October of this year.
Phil Spencer Teases Call of Duty 2024
Through several interviews conducted with Microsoft employees by Inverse, we now know that according to Phil Spencer it would be safe to assume a new Call of Duty game was coming in October.
This comes after it was suggested last year that a new game in the Black Ops franchise was on the way, and that it would be set during the Gulf War. This recent reported confirmation from Phil Spencer has resulted in some mixed responses from the community.
COD Fans Vent Their Frustrations on X
In a post on Twitter/x @Detonatedcom shared the Spencer quote confirming the October release of the new game, fans responded, some were angry about the current state of the franchise and some announced that they were giving up on the series and that they were no longer interested.
It is not hard to understand why people are feeling frustrated, there is a new game every 12 months, meaning there is rarely time to miss the series and get excited for a new entry.
