The game that was revealed, Avowed, looked both refreshing and familiar. The game is a fantasy-action RPG played from a first-person perspective.
The game is set in the world of Eora, and the gameplay also looks interesting, combining elements like wand magic and melee combat. After the game’s reveal, fans reacted to the title and the reveal, taking to social media, and this is what they had to say.

Regarding console exclusives, people from the opposing side love taking a jibe at new reveals. It is rare for a title to gain an almost universal appreciation with its first look. Avowed does look promising and feels like a title that could win it for Xbox in 2024.
Regardless, some people are not impressed with the reveal and feel it doesn’t look all that great. This is how some of the fans reacted to the title’s reveal. Starting, some were driving home their critical opinion on the game’s first look. One of the users stated that even the creators and netizens, who are usually all up to defend Xbox titles and offerings, are sort of disappointed in the title:

On the other hand, some users felt the game looked amazing, and the look that was delivered at the Developer Direct made it look amazing:

While the title doesn’t look all that bad in the side-by-side comparisons with one of the best PlayStation 4 and 5 exclusives, Horizon Forbidden West, one has to remember that it is not a finished product.
Also, the fact that the game is a first-person RPG focusing on the usage of melee combat and wand magic adds to its uniqueness but may also add to one’s apprehension about trying it out. That is because there aren’t a lot of games that have done first-person melee combat and have done it right. There are some examples of titles like Chivalry 2 and Kingdom Come Deliverance. Titles like these are numbered.
The title also doesn’t focus only on melee weapons but melee weapons and spell casting do form two-thirds of the combat choice. The third part is wielding a sidearm.
