Just like Robert Downey Jr. was born to play Iron Man, it feels Tom Hardy too was born to be Venom. No other actor could have portrayed the anti-hero as well as Hardy did, and as a result, he is and will always be the best actor ever for the titular comic-book character.

Although Tom Hardy is the best possible choice for the fan-favorite comic-book character, Venom, there is always a possibility that even the best of actors have to be replaced or recast. Even if that doesn’t happen, fans have already decided who could be the best Venom after Hardy, and in a surprising event, it is not another actor but WWE legend Brock Lesnar, who fans reckon is the best replacement (via Ranker).

A professional wrestler and mixed martial artist, Lesner already has the physicality, strength, and intimidating presence required to portray a character like Eddie Brock. Since Venom is a character known best for his impressive strength and power, Lesner’s imposing presence can help bring a believable element to his portrayal.

Furthermore, his looks even resemble the early drawings created by Venom creator, Todd McFarlane, which adds yet another reason why the wrestler would be a great choice for the role. While Lesnar might not be an actor, he already has a huge fan following, which could further increase the movie and his portrayal’s appeal and success.

While these are just speculations and theories, it doesn’t seem like Tom Hardy is ready to say goodbye to Venom anytime soon.

Sony recently unveiled the logo for Venom 3 at the recent CES 2024 press conference (via Rotten Tomatoes | X). Although fans were unhappy at the ‘bland’ logo, many are excited to finally have Tom Hardy back in his fan-favorite role of the alien symbiote.

Although not much has been revealed about the storyline of the threequel, it was reported that the movie is still in pre-production and will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who also wrote the screenplay for the first two movies.

Marking Hardy’s return as Venom after his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the movie will also star Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor, although their roles are still unknown. Produced by Hardy and Marcel, the duo also co-created the story.
