The prospect of a Fantastic Four reboot unraveling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe quite conspicuously sent the entirety of the fanbase over the edge with excitement. Ever since Marvel president Kevin Feige made the official announcement of the forthcoming project, fans have been in a frenzy trying to decipher all the cast and plot details.
Parallel to the casting rumors, there has been plenty of talk about how MCU veteran Chris Evans is reportedly planning on reviving Johnny Storm’s role in the film. Not to mention, the horde of new names that have been appearing on the potential cast list; from Adam Driver and Jodie Comer to Mila Kunis and William Jackson Harper, there have been endless theories about which stars might show up in the MCU reboot of Fantastic Four. And while it’s going to be a long time before any official details about the film get hashed out, we do know who’s not making her Sue Storm debut anytime soon.
Mila Kunis As Sue Storm in Fantastic Four: Rumor Debunked
The only name to have been attached to the project has been that of Matt Shakman, the 47-year-old director who helmed and produced Elizabeth Olsen-led WandaVision. So, when Mila Kunis was seen having a tête-à-tête meal with the man who is set to shepherd Fantastic Four, fans were quick to assume that the actress was likely in the talks to lead her debut Marvel venture. The fact that Shakman met with Kunis shortly after revealing that the preliminary stages of casting had already been kicked off only added more fuel to the fire of rumors.
But to fans’ dismay, the Black Swan star isn’t the one who’s going to portray Sue Storm in the movie. That doesn’t mean she won’t be starring in the film altogether though, because insider reports claim that Kunis, 39, is instead slated to play an entirely different role, the details about which remain undisclosed.

However, Kunis’ version of it all seems to be drastically different than what sources have been claiming.
Mila Kunis Denies Being A Part of Fantastic Four
During her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday evening, the Ted star was asked whether the rumors of her MCU casting held any veracity. “Apparently, if you go to lunch with somebody that is also in the industry, you are then working with each other, according to the Internet,” Kunis said of her meeting with Shakman. “We went out to a deli and had lunch together. And then, the next day, I was somehow in Fantastic Four.”
“I am not in Fantastic Four, but I know who is,” Kunis claimed, but refused to give away any names out of fear of “getting in trouble” with Disney.
While she might just be telling the truth about her not being a part of the movie, it could very well be a ploy to shut down the rumors so that the suspense and anticipation for the Fantastic Four reboot stay afloat. If Andrew Garfield could paint white lies about his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, then it’d probably be wise to not put it past Kunis. But alas, only time will tell.
Fantastic Four is set to release on February 14, 2025.
