The last iteration of Superman, played by Henry Cavill, did not have a good run despite being hailed as one of the greatest on-screen portrayals of the character. Several fans were unhappy when it was announced that Cavill would not be returning as the Man of Steel. This makes it more important for the James Gunn film to make a place among the fans.

Recently, when Superman’s stunt double Justin Howell sat for a talk with Be More Super, he described his experience in the David Corenswet film to be very cool. Howell has previously stunt-doubled for Chris Hemsworth in the MCU. Interestingly, he described the DCU project to be the “mountain top” of his career even after working in Avengers: Endgame.

“It feels like the mountain top for me. This feels like a very very cool experience. Feels like the start of a new era. The things James [Gunn] is doing with it are very interesting. Very cool.”

Justin Howell could not disclose more details from the James Gunn film but praised the suit –“the suit is the most mobile of any of the other suits I have worn.” Recently, it was revealed that David Corenswet will don a suit highly different from the existing versions. The “S” in the suit hints that Gunn is bringing the Kingdom Come storyline in some way to his iteration.

David Corenswet has some massive shoes to fill with his portrayal of Superman. He has the looks of the character, and some behind-the-scenes footage also suggested that he is also working hard to achieve the physique.

Justin Howell revealed to Be More Super that the Pearl actor “embodies the character” very well. Howell added that David Coremswet is “a sweet” and a very “down to earth” man. He is incredibly excited for the fans to see the actor as Clark Kent on screen. Recently, it was announced by James Gunn on Threads that Corenswet also auditioned for the role of Adam Warlock in GotG Volume 3.

The DCU is all set to kick off this year with the Max adult animated series Creature Commandos. It will be seen if James Gunn and Peter Safran can fix the problems with the universe of Superman and Batman and elevate it to the status of the MCU.
