The feud between GTA maker Rockstar Games and Florida’s own version of Batman’s archnemesis, Lawrence Sullivan aka Florida Joker, appeared to have been settled for good. However, the debate was revived after Mr. Sullivan decided to upload a new video on his TikTok channel where he wants to “talk” to Rockstar, again.
It all began last year following the release of the company’s next installment of their flagship game. The man claimed that a character appearing in the trailer resembling his appearance had been inspired by his looks. Since then, Lawrence has been pursuing the feat of bringing home the bacon to take care of his mother as he explained in an interview.
Florida Joker Ain’t Letting Rockstar Go That Easy
Another video that surfaced on the Internet shows Florida Joker (he dyed his hair again by the way) calling out Rockstar for money. “GTA GTA, we gotta talk. Rockstar Games, where is my money.” This isn’t the first time he has tried to make some sort of profit by alleging the company used his persona as the inspiration for their character. Some aren’t very fond of his demand though.

Users weren’t able to hold themselves back after watching the video and began trolling him. One user called Kierhan writes, “Its mad how he dyed his hair again when GTA dropped he is a proper weapon.”

Such reactions are not new and many such comments are still waiting for the viewers to be seen. The latest post was just another addition to the long list.
Some users posted memes on the post. A user called Jordan Nocoli wrote, “This guy after Rockstar never contacting him for the next 10 years” followed by a GIF showcasing a puppet-like figure jumping out from a height.

While one Biggerv2019 thinks the company and he are in cahoots. He said, “I feel like rockstar is paying him to act this way.”

The GTA 6 trailer which has garnered 181 Million views on the video-sharing platform YouTube at the time of writing harkens back to the viral news stories in Florida. A section of the video that showcases a man in the likeness of Mr. Sullivan isn’t necessarily an inspiration of him drawn by the company. In fact, there’s nothing on Florida Joker to substantiate his claims.
That Would Actually Be A Nice Gesture
Lawrence achieved internet fame in 2017 following his arrest in Miami when he was allegedly pointing guns at passing cars. Initially, people gave him the nickname ‘Miami Joker’ for his resemblance to the DC Comic antagonist The Joker. His mugshots revealed a number of tattoos including 666 (which is considered the ‘number of the beast’), the Grim Reaper, a skull, and more.
His tattoos aren’t a product of depicting coolness but, as Sullivan explained in an interview that followed after his arrest, the tragedies of his life. From the murder of his friend to his broken relationship, all of them made him feel a kinship to Batman’s archnemesis.
If that’s the case, then it’s actually a good thing if Rockstar Games is paying him to make such videos. Whatever the case, more videos are likely to appear until GTA 6 is released, maybe after that too.
Do you think Rockstar is paying him to do so? Tell us in the comments.
