Despite many solely feeling the exceptional nature of the film when viewing it on screen, only a handful will realize what made filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things as impactful as it is.
One of the most polarizing things about this film is its weirdly distinct nature to portray some of the most disturbingly wacky scenarios in some of the most pristine environments, which creates a memorable contrast for the audience to both enjoy and think about. Along with that, the performances of the cast members are naturally another big part of why this film is deemed Oscar-worthy by almost everyone.
