After the chaotic settlement of Scarlett Johansson’s payday, Disney is again under fire for concealing a former executive’s assault against an employee, which was claimed to have been repeatedly inflicted. The complainant filed a report that the company had been refusing to acknowledge the allegations against former Vice President of Distribution Nolan Gonzales.

As per the assertion, there had been several complaints against him, and Disney’s inaction only allegedly allowed Gonzales to harass more women within the company.

Disney Employee Sues Company For Hiding Assault Allegations

Although Disney and Nolan Gonzales refused to make any comments, the statement claimed that the management continues to evade the conversation of his allegations because he brings so much profit to the company.

The plaintiff, only identified as Jane Doe, revealed that Gonzales assaulted her in 2017 using substances to initiate s*xual acts while she was unconscious. She also claimed that the executive threatened to ruin her career if she refused to participate. Doe attempted to sever her communication with the accused, but she was blackmailed into releasing their intimate videos. The suit claims (via THR):

Women were discouraged to come forward about his behaviors because management seemingly accepted Gonzales conduct as being part of the entertainment industry and his firing would hurt the company financially.”

Doe revealed she was not the only person assaulted by Gonzales, and surprisingly, the management was allegedly aware of his behavior yet they refused to make an investigation. Shockingly, the accuser was demoted from her job.

Disney used the rolling layoffs as an excuse to demote Plaintiff and to place her on a different team where she did not manage any direct reports. Previously, Plaintiff was a supervisory-level employee who trained and directed three subordinates. Now, Plaintiff’s essential job duties are much smaller in scope and are similar to duties she performed at Disney ten years ago.”

Gonzales resigned from his position in 2022 after he was reported again for s*xual harassment. As of this moment, the studio is facing a lot of legal problems, which include discrimination against female employees.

Fans would remember that Disney also battled with its own star Scarlett Johansson over breach of contract as to her paycheck for the Black Widow film. While the terms of the deal were not revealed, the actress said (via THR):

I am happy to have resolved our differences with Disney. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together over the years and have greatly enjoyed my creative relationship with the team. I look forward to continuing our collaboration in years to come.”

Disney Studios chairman Alan Bergman was also pleased that the issue had been resolved after Johansson claimed that the company sacrificed the movie’s box office potential to make more profit via its streaming platform.

I’m very pleased that we have been able to come to a mutual agreement with Scarlett Johansson regarding Black Widow. We appreciate her contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to working together on a number of upcoming projects, including Disney’s Tower of Terror.”

The studio is dealing with a lot of legal dilemmas involving its own employees and talents, and not only that, but it has also seemingly meddled with its franchises’ creative decisions, so it’s only a matter of time for the giant company to set things right.
