As he’s ready to give another cinematic juggle to his career, fans might get to see the actor reuniting with none other than Samuel L. Jackson in the sequel of Doug Liman’s 2008 sci-fi action movie Jumper.

Hayden Christensen is famous for his role as Anakin Skywalker, a brave man infested with unbearable tragedies, who becomes Darth Vader. Darth Vader is undoubtedly one of the most significant and popular characters in the Star Wars franchise.

Christensen’s return and signing with the Independent Artist Group has yet another significance as it marked the reteaming with IAG CEO Jim Osborne. Earlier in the 2000s, the duo teamed up when he was rising to climb the ladder of Star Wars projects.

“Ed Limato and I signed Hayden Christensen early in his career and it’s wonderful to be reunited with my old friend,” Osborne said of signing Christensen in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter)

Other than his Star Wars credits including his recent appearance in Disney Plus hits Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, the actor has several other titles to his name. Other significant roles of the actor include The Virgin Suicides, Shattered Glass, Awake, and of course, Jumper.

Is Jumper 2 Finally In The Cards Now?

Following the release of Jumper, fans have long expected a sequel with Christensen reprising his role of David Rice. Also, back in 2010, several reports indicated that Jumper 2 was in the works and Christensen himself gave a promising update on the matter. “We’re talking about it right now actually,” said of Jumper 2 development in 2010 while speaking with MTV (via Collider). The actor also gave an essence of the story of the potential sequel, saying:

“The story will be somewhere a little darker. I think there’s a lot you can do with it. It was sort of set up in a way it’s gonna be mother hunting son and possibly even maybe sister hunting brother. We’re talking about it, trying to figure it out.”

Also, the actor was open to reprising his role but fans kept waiting and the movie never rolled out to production. As Christensen is back with a full-fledged contract for representation with IAG, the Jumper 2 hope resurfaced again.

But realistically, it is very unlikely that the 20th Century Studios will revive over a decade-old movie as there has been no official indication of it to date. Jumper had a successful run at the box office as it went on to earn over $225 million against the production budget of $85 million.

Jumper is available for rent on Apple TV Plus.
