Nicolas Cage recently had an interview with Screenrant where the Ghost Rider actor talked about his love for his Spider-Man Noir character. When enquired whether he will be reprising his role in the upcoming sequel, Cage quickly referred to Sony Studios. Read his full quote below,

You’d have to ask Sony. I don’t know what’s going on with that. No one’s spoken to me about that. Ask them. I don’t know. I really don’t. I wish they would. I love Spider-Man Noir, too. I think that’s a great character. Spider-Man’s the coolest superhero. And then you combine that with Cagney and Bogart and Edward G. Robinson, come on, it’s a great character.

Nicolas Cage’s character was greatly influenced by three actors, Cagney, Bogart, and Robinson, who were well-known for their roles in 1930s detective noir films. Although he claims to adore the role and would dearly love to play the classic Spider-Man once more, he won’t be in the Spider-Verse film in June. The humorous Spider-Ham and the mech-driving Peni Parker don’t seem to be coming back for the sequel either.
