The darkest and most enigmatic form of Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, voiced by none other than Nicolas Cage, completely wowed fans when Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse hit theatres in 2018. Sadly, it appears he won’t be reprising his role as the moody investigator in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Cage disclosed that Sony had not contacted him about playing the monochrome Spidey again.

Spider-Man Noir was one of the most remarkable companions to enter Miles’ reality amid the myriad of distinctive Spiders from other realities. Noir, who wore the trench coat and cap typical of a detective in noir crime literature, was a version of Peter Parker from a different 1930s universe explored in his own comic book series.
Nicolas Cage revealed Sony hadn’t approached him to reprise his role as Spider-Man Noir but he did enjoy playing it

Nicolas Cage recently had an interview with Screenrant where the Ghost Rider actor talked about his love for his Spider-Man Noir character. When enquired whether he will be reprising his role in the upcoming sequel, Cage quickly referred to Sony Studios. Read his full quote below,
You’d have to ask Sony. I don’t know what’s going on with that. No one’s spoken to me about that. Ask them. I don’t know. I really don’t. I wish they would. I love Spider-Man Noir, too. I think that’s a great character. Spider-Man’s the coolest superhero. And then you combine that with Cagney and Bogart and Edward G. Robinson, come on, it’s a great character.
Nicolas Cage’s character was greatly influenced by three actors, Cagney, Bogart, and Robinson, who were well-known for their roles in 1930s detective noir films. Although he claims to adore the role and would dearly love to play the classic Spider-Man once more, he won’t be in the Spider-Verse film in June. The humorous Spider-Ham and the mech-driving Peni Parker don’t seem to be coming back for the sequel either.
Fans believe Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir to be one of the perfect castings ever done

Another said,
Nic Cage is literally the best person they could’ve picked to be Spidey Noir, Christopher Daniel Barnes in shattered dimensions was great but I’m probably blinded by my love for Spider-Man TAS

Some even called Cage “phenomenal”
Honestly if Noir ever gets his own movie, Nick cage has gotta do the voice again. He was phenomenal

It was perfect! As I’ve grown older, I’ve learned to appreciate casting so much. This is a prime example. Good call.

Nicolas Cage recently appeared in the odd horror-comedy Renfield, in which Cage plays none other than Count Dracula. Released on April 14th, Renfield is a great film to watch if you can’t get enough of Nicolas Cage.
