Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is embroiled in another controversy. And this time, players are complaining about developers turning the game into a version of Fortnite. The upcoming operator bundle has been confirmed at the end of March.
The operator bundle will be released on April 20, that is, 4/20. And what better day than that to introduce Cheech and Chong? The pot-loving comedy duo is coming to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone soon.
While players have nothing against the skins, some tracer perks have been the center of controversy ever since details regarding them emerged online.
Call of Duty Players Get to Roll
The iconic smokers are going to announce their arrival on the sets of Call of Duty in style. The operator bundle is themed on the iconic comedy duo, and both Cheech and Chong skins are going to be part of the bundle. However, there is going to be an extra twist.

The video shows the player shooting at opponents, and while dying, they get turned into joints. This hilarious weapon tracer is bound to be a favorite for players, especially those who are into smoking. But not everyone is happy. And a large section of fans are claiming that Call of Duty is becoming too much like Fortnite, which is ruining the essence of the game.
One fan commented, “Smh Everyday more close to Fornite,” echoing the sentiment of a large section of fans. Another fan wrote in the comments, “They said fuck it . Going full Fortnite and beyond.” Fans’ opinions were also divided, as some saw the fun and humorous side of it while others rued what the game was becoming.
Some fans were visibly upset with the new operator bundle and its Fortnite-esque weapon tracers. One fan wrote, “this COD isn’t fun anymore.” While a lot of others echoed the sentiment, a large section of fans were thrilled with the upcoming operator bundle.
Call of Duty had landed in hot waters for ‘treating civilians as bowling pins.‘ So it remains to be seen how it navigates the current issues, with limited free access to Modern Warfare 3 failing to assuage them.
What to Expect From the Cheech and Chong Bundle?
Once the Cheech and Chong bundle lands, it will be available for purchase at the store. Although the price of the bundle hasn’t been disclosed yet, the rewards include 3 weapon blueprints, 1 charm, 1 large decal, 1 loading screen, and 1 finishing move called Secondhand Smoke.
While the promo hasn’t launched yet, anticipations are high regarding its release. With many condemning it because of its similarities to Fortnite, a lot of Call of Duty players are looking forward to turning their fallen enemies into joints.
There is also supposed to be a Slothy Bundle released. This is another tracer pack, and instead of turning fallen enemies into joints, this one turns the heads of the players into bongs, complete with weed leaves to make up the particles all around.
