The new season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is offering the game for free for a limited time. It may drum up interest among the community but leave the loyal CoD fans wanting more from the game. MW3 isn’t exactly the apple of fans’ eyes, as it has failed to capture the essence the franchise once had.
What’s interesting is that fans won’t get anything but to play something that has already received a lot of backlash from players. While the players were dealing with the hacker problem already, the game introduced open combat missions in its single-player campaign to ruin the fun. Instead of enjoying the experience, fans are now waiting for the next installment in the franchise in the hopes it returns to its roots.
It Must Hurt, but That’s All the Call of Duty Fans Will Get
MW3 was a commercial success upon its release, meaning several fans rushed to buy the game, only to find out it was no picnic. It seems like the ones who bought it are stuck with it without any rewards. They just keep grinding, even if they may not want to.
The latest announcement may pique some interest from players who may want to experience multiplayer. However, there’s nothing for the regular CoD players in it. It appears like the developers are simply seeking new players, hyping up the game, and avoiding the loyal fanbase.

As of now, Warzone and the multiplayer are keeping the players a bit engaged, focusing on a barrage of content rather than gameplay.
Call of Duty Was Supposed to Raise the Bar, Not Lower It
For the last couple of decades, Call of Duty has become a standard as far as military shooters are concerned. However, it is becoming dead as a doornail lately. The first game in the Modern Warfare reboot raised the bar and appeared to be a promise that CoD has ushered into a new era. From graphics to mechanics, everything was spectacular.
Fast forward to today, and that certainly isn’t the case. Warzone, too, is becoming a rotten apple for many, and fans have even demanded the original game that they used to enjoy. As of now, it has become too convoluted for many.
All hopes are on the next installment in the franchise, which is rumored to follow the Black Ops timeline, but fans have to wait a few months for it to arrive. Hopefully, the developers won’t ignore their loyal fans and will do more than just allow free access for a limited time.
