Epic Games rolled out the latest season with a bang in the most literal sense. Players have taken advantage of the destructive capabilities of modernized vehicles with mounted weapons and not everyone is fond of the recent changes and the developers need to get ahead of it.

The developers knew the risk of adding these new weaponized vehicles and underestimated how the gaming community would react. Famous influencers like Ninja are not afraid to express their opinions about the latest season of Fortnite and how it appeals to younger children than competitive players. Epic Games needs to tread carefully before the entire player base turns on them.

Epic Games needs to get ahead of it before this situation spirals out of control in a similar fashion where Arrowhead Game Studios could not contain the toxic culture within their community for players of their live service game. The developers need to hire moderators who are capable of making the necessary changes on the fly.

The addition of weaponized vehicles would make this season far more appealing and entertaining for those interested in playing as a unit, and those who wish to play solo, not so much. Players did not waste a second and unleashed the awesome firepower of mounted machine guns that could melt anything standing in its way which can be both toxic and fun.

Fortnite and Helldivers 2 Players Need to Take a Stand Against This Change

Players of live service games like Helldivers 2 can stand together or suffer alone.

The point of playing video games is to have fun but these meta changes have skewed the definition of fun into the opposite. Some players are stressing out over a game because the developers failed to balance the efficiency of the firepower of certain weapons and will most likely feel discouraged to play again.

Balance is essential to prevent any malicious activities in competitive live service games. Players do not want to be entertained, they also want to feel safe while doing so and these changes made by developers are making it difficult to find the satisfaction they seeking.

Arrowhead Game Studios and Epic Games are both competent and talented gaming studios but neither of them can escape the same problem. Balancing and scaling will always be recurring issues for live service games and until the developers can come up with a permanent solution, players will continue to suffer.

Perhaps these never-ending complaints will be an eye-opener for these major gaming companies and will encourage them to work on a solution. Nerfs and patches will simply not cut it anymore and it will continue a never-ending cycle of overpowered gear and loot being introduced and vaulted.
