The Best Guns in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 and Where to Find Them

The Boom Bolt can be your primary weapon for some mindless fun in Fortnite.

Your first weapon of focus at mid to long-range should be a reliable assault rifle. For this, I would recommend the Enforcer AR as it delivers up to 43 damage per shot, with an impressive fire rate (4). However, if you’re someone who would prefer slower shots but deadlier damage, the newly introduced Boom Bolt is for you. Both of these can be found as random drops, so look for them anywhere on the island.

The Boom Bolt deals heavy area damage, with up to 111 damage with its Mythic variant. Ringmaster’s Boom Bolt can be acquired by defeating Ringmaster at the Nitrodome area (almost at the center of the map).

Next comes a choice of something that delivers deadly damage at close range. For this, I would suggest picking up Cerberus’ Gatekeeper Shotgun. This is arguably the best shotgun in the game right now and delivers damage up to 164.9 at close range. You can find this shotgun at Grim Gate.

If you have an open slot, the synergy between a shotgun and an SMG can be an overpowered combination. For this, I recommend picking up the Legendary Thunder Burst SMG. It’s a random drop, so it’s up to luck how you come across this one.

Finally, you cannot ignore one of the coolest and most overpowered weapons this season. Megalo Don Nitro Fists (Mythic) is a brutal pair of gloves that let you uppercut, punch, and use mobility to your advantage. You acquire these by defeating Megalo Don, who will be driving around the map.

If you manage to land a punch from above (Air Punch), these things deal 70 damage. Even a simple punch delivers 60 damage, and with a successful combo, you can pretty much knock out anyone within a matter of seconds.

Using Vehicle Mods to Your Advantage

Your vehicle is also a killing machine now.

The latest season of Fortnite Battle Royale has mixed up the meta a bit when it comes to dealing damage. This time, weapons are just part of the equation. You’ll notice most players in customized vehicles driving around the map, and there’s a good reason for this.

Throughout the island, you’ll find different vehicles just lying around. At first, they may not promise much, but you’ll notice newly added Vehicle Mod Boxes at random locations. Drive through these, and your vehicle has a new weapon/item attached to it. Out of these, the Machine Gun Turret is simply one of the most overpowered and somewhat broken weapons in the game right now.

Add to your vehicle a Cow Catcher and Chonker Off-Road Tires, and you basically have a vehicle that’s suited for almost any terrain and holds the firepower of someone who’s likely to win a Victory Royale.

If you’re playing solo, I’d suggest using a key bind that quickly lets you switch between seats. This way, you can switch from your driving position to handling the Machine Gun Turret when an enemy approaches you. Personally, I use CTRL as the key for this on PC.

The only big decision you’ll have to make in your playthrough is choosing a mobility style. Are you happy with driving around in a car, or will you use Nitro Fists to traverse the map? This is totally up to you, based on how aggressive or strategic you wish to be in battle.
