Fortnite is about to take advantage of the biggest comic book film of the year with the recent leak. Players found an alternate cosmetic Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and the developers could be holding on to it before the premiere.
Marvel Studios will take the fans on a multiversal road trip and will make history with the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine movie. Other franchises will take advantage of the hype, especially in the game industry and Epic Games is not far off.
Fortnite Is About to Introduce a New Wolverine Variant
The entire fandom would erupt when Marvel Studios rolled out the first two trailers of the upcoming film. Seeing two legends share the screen as they go out on a multiversal stroll down memory lane, even the auteur of video games, Hideo Kojima could not contain his excitement for Deadpool and Wolverine. Other franchises will most likely take advantage of this film and Epic Games is not far behind.
Fans are eager to see Hugh Jackman sport the iconic yellow suit, but Fortnite’s developers wanted to share another side to the character that has been long overlooked and poorly adapted in live-action. Weapon X was a codename given to the character as he was experimented on in his early days and will likely be available in the in-game item shop around the release of the film.
The developers are all in with the X-Men content and the imminent arrival of a new landmark suggests it has something to do with Wolverine’s days in the Weapon X program. It is wholesome to see game developers go through the deep cuts of the source material and pay homage in any way they see fit.
Perhaps the developers will share more details in the coming weeks and the Marvel brand will be a focal point for the current season. Magneto is finally getting his fair share of attention and has made the cut to be in the Battle Pass, perhaps more characters from the franchise will make an appearance soon.
Deadpool and Wolverine Will Break Fortnite
Epic Games realizes the influence of the superhero genre and has benefitted from it greatly. It will only be a matter of time before the live service game will be filled with players sporting shiny cosmetic items inspired by their favorite Avenger or X-Man. Early leaks also suggest that Loki and a handful of his variants will be making an appearance soon.
This film has been at the top of the wishlists of the fans and the filmmakers and it has been a long time coming. The gaming community is in for a treat in the coming months.
Characters from the successful X-Men ’97 animated series are also headed into the game if the recent rumors are to be believed. It is only prudent to get the gang back together in this form of reunion through a video game.
The filmmakers can feel the pressure and have no plans on fumbling now and it is up to Epic Games to piggyback on the hype and anticipation. Perhaps more variations of suits will slowly roll in in the coming weeks.
