Epic Games introduced the Fortnite Festival as a new way to indulge in the game’s world, initially launched as a PvE title. Based on the formula popularised by cult classic titles like Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
Since new content keeps coming to the title, fans are always looking for new features released officially or sometimes leaked by content creators. This time, something similar happened when I leaked information about the Festival’s PvP mode, and a fan spotted something exciting.
Scott Pilgrim May Be Coming to Fortnite Festival, as per an Observation Made by a Fan.
Fortnite Festival has enjoyed tonnes of popularity despite a genre that isn’t relevant, which has made people come up with competitor titles. Given the amount of resources that Epic Games can burn to bring the best quality of content to the title, any title looking to compete will have to try incredibly hard.
New content in the title is added seasonally, with each season lasting almost three months and featuring new artists. Recently, a leak on X saw an individual leaking some information assumed to be present in the game’s files. It featured the game’s upcoming PvP mode and suggested that it might be called Battle Stage:
An eagle-eyed fan also noticed that the image shared by the leaker contained ‘Pilgrim’ as a repeated keyword and instantly put on their tin-foil hat to speculate:
As many readers may know, Scott Pilgrim was a graphic novel series adapted into a live-action romantic-comedy movie. Fans of the graphic novel may be delighted after hearing this but are advised to take this with a pinch of salt until further confirmation is made.
Scott Pilgrim in Fortnite Festival Could Be Exciting
The graphic novel series has mainstream relevance and popularity. Fortnite is also inarguably one of the most popular gaming IPs, so fans even wanta movie based on the game. Before this leak was posted on social media, people requested a collaboration between the popular graphic novel series and the video game title.
This involved Epic Games CCO Donald Mustard retweeting a photo from Brie Larson, who lent her voice in an animated series based on the character, and a fan asking for a collaboration:
There have been posts from gamers on the game’s subreddit in which people have asked for a collaboration, too:
It is clear that a collaboration between the two forms of media makes absolute sense and might even be feasible if the mention in the game’s files is to be believed. But to reiterate, nothing is known for sure.
What do you think of this potential collaboration? Could it help create an overlap between the fanbases of the two media? Let us know in the comment section below!
