Two new additions coming to the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 have been revealed and they’re both familiar characters. Peter Griffin from Family Guy and the hardcore special operations soldier, Solid Snake. Two contrasting characters from two completely different worlds come together, though an official announcement hasn’t been made yet.
Xbox Store accidentally leaked the image that revealed the name of the next Chapter 5 Season 1 and shows the two new characters standing along with five others. Looking at the leaked image, it seems John Jones standing dead center in the picture with a new weapon, is leading the team.
Xbox Store’s Accidental Leak Reveals New Characters and the Name of the Upcoming Season
An accidental slip-up by Xbox has spilled the beans about the next set of characters joining Fortnite‘s upcoming Chapter 5 Season 1, which is named “Underground“. Xbox Store briefly showed the update which has since been taken off but not before fans shared a quick picture taken from the store. The picture shows Peter Griffin suited up with another character who’s seen showing off the skin of Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake.
Griffin is a renowned fictional character and the protagonist of the mega-hit series Family Guy. Back in 2021, a post on X led many gamers to believe Griffin was making his debut in Fortnite, thanks to a data mine by a gamer, and had several fans losing their mind over it. That didn’t materialize obviously, but now that the news is confirmed albeit accidentally, gamers are again hyped to see the comic legend in the fan-favorite game.
As for Metal Gear Solid‘s Solid Snake, he remains one of the most popular action characters, so fans are hyped, especially gamers who have played a lot of Metal Gear Solid and know about his background. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater from 2004 was a highly rated action-adventure, stealth game that was originally released for PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo 3DS. The game’s getting a remake now for modern consoles and PCs, coming next year.
Another character spotted in the accidentally revealed announcement picture, was John Jones. Jones is also seen holding a rifle that gamers couldn’t make out yet about which exact weapon it is. The image also shows five other characters and what looks like a classy vehicle as well.
Fortnite Chapter 5 is Also Bringing Eminem to the Game
There’s also a Big Bang Fortnite Live Event taking place on the 2nd of December. Epic Games confirmed that the servers will be down for an “extended period” to prepare for the game’s next chapter. The Big Bang event is being headlined by the popular Rap artist, Marshall Mathers, also most popularly known as Eminem. The Big Bang concert is all set to start on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET or 7 p.m. GMT.
In a similar fashion to previous concerts held by the game which featured a slew of equally famous artists, players must stay logged in and ready in the game’s menu screen well before the said time to be taken to the pre-game lobby for the concert. Players can join with 3 other friends as a party to join the concert together.
Those joining the concert will also receive the Big Bang loading screen for the game. Platforms supported include Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce Now, and Luna services by Amazon. Eminem will also get three outfits and accessories for the concert including Rap Boy, Slim Shady, and Marshall Never More. These should be already available for gamers in the item shop.
While Eminem’s timed concert will have millions tuning in, fans are mostly waiting for the official announcement by Epic Games about Griffin and Snake joining the game. The official announcement is now expected any time later today or tomorrow. This will be an interesting weekend for all Fortnite players.
