It’s that time of the year when Fortnite will once again see the return of Star Wars content. To celebrate May as the month of the popular sci-fi franchise, LEGO Fortnite’s version of cosmetics will see a much-awaited return in the game.
Unlike previous seasons, this time, Fortnite fans will enjoy some of their favorite Star Wars characters as part of purchasable in-game cosmetics, and there’s a chance that Fortnite Battle Royale will also receive new gameplay updates.
Fortnite x Star Wars Reportedly Arrives May 3
According to HYPEX on Twitter, there have been some leaks regarding what players can expect from this update. Skins like Rebel Trooper, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and Death Trooper will arrive in the Item Shop, and some of them will even have LEGO variants.
Furthermore, there are going to be LEGO versions of lightsabers too. This is big news for everyone who enjoys the game’s LEGO mode, and will certainly bring a big addition to the existing player base for the game.

A week ago, the official YouTube channel for Fortnite also dropped a small teaser trailer that gave us a date. Players can expect this update to arrive on May 3. Based on time zones, there’s a chance May 4 will be the date some players receive the update, which celebrates Star Wars Day.
Although LEGO Fortnite isn’t for everyone, the niche player base it caters to does love an update or two. Adding Star Wars content certainly seems like a great decision that might bring new players into the mix.
What Can Players Expect From the Update?
If we’re following the usual routine of Fortnite Battle Royale, players can expect a lot of new gameplay additions. First things first, it’s likely that players will get to experience lightsabers in-game.
Based on previous seasons, not only can players use lightsabers as weapons, but they can also use the Force to gain an advantage over opponents. It certainly shifts the meta a little but adds a lot more depth to the existing combat system.
On a purely cosmetic level, players can expect characters like Kylo Ren and Rey in the Item Shop. These outfits will be available for a limited time, so if you’re planning on buying these, it’s best to stock up on some V-Bucks as soon as you can because they are going to make a hole in your wallet.
Along with this update, there are going to be a few more upcoming crossovers that cover different areas of the entertainment industry. After all, it’s Fortnite we are talking about! May is going to be an important month for the current season of Fortnite Battle Royale, and we’ll have to wait and watch how it unfolds.
